Hello dear readers!
I hope October has been treating you well so far. I personally can’t believe we’re already halfway through the month! That might just be because I’m looking forward to my birthday, and I’ve had a busy time lately.
Here’s what I’ve been up to.
Trick-Or-Treater Creatures
In my last post I completely forgot to share this month’s Patreon art assets, which are (of course) spooky season themed. Here they are!

In my last post, I also mentioned that I was going to try designing Halloween-themed adoptables, one for every day of October. Well, after publishing 8 of them… I changed my mind.
Adoptables are a bit of a luxury good at the moment (the way things are going, what isn’t?). Also, I was not feeling inspired and decided to not force myself to continue.

So instead I decided to publish what I’d made as an art asset pack.
Behold, the Trick-or-Treater Creatures! 8 original Halloweeny little monsters for both personal and commercial use (with attribution). Check them out HERE.

Pictured above: a selection of some of my favourite Trick-or-Treater Creatures. Which one is your favourite and why is it the sleepy orange cat?
A New Adventure: The Carnahan Collection
The Halloween theme continues with this next project.
Last Saturday was the latest monthly meet-up of our local TTRPG club. For this occasion, on Friday I wrote up a two-page horror scenario for ALBO, and played it for the first time the next day.
The session was a great success: I even managed to finish within the two hour time slot!*
Everyone at the table had fun and I felt inspired to write up the adventure properly for publishing.
I’d been having a rough time before the session. I was still fighting off a cold, and feeling very low about the quality of my work and peoples’ interest in it.
So it was really nice to feel so encouraged and inspired that I literally set all other projects aside (even Chimeric Fantasy) to make this a reality.
I hereby present… The Carnahan Collection!

Pictured above: the printed out adventure trifold, along with the handouts, a map of Carnahan House and Professor Carnahan’s final notes.
The adventure sees the players take on the roles of a group of costumed kids on Halloween night. They’ve been dared by their local bully to enter Carnahan House. The neighbourhood’s very own abandoned (and supposedly haunted) house, it once belonged to the archaeologist Professor Carnahan… who went missing years ago.
The adventure was inspired in almost equal parts by the Call of Kidthulhu adventure “The Dare“, Craig of the Creek and that one Halloween episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The adventure is available on my website, but also on RPG Trader and Itch.io.
*This is noteworthy solely for the fact that I oftentime tend to be a tad verbose and my one-shots actually turn out to be two or three shots.
Commission: Tesera Games
What do you think the odds are that I would be commissioned to draw another Chimera, for a project that almost exactly shares the name of the first ever TTRPG system I ever wrote?
Well that’s just what happened. The lovely Sandra got in touch with me after seeing the logo I designed for RPG Trader. Sandra (of Tesera Games) is planning to open an RPG, boardgame and TCG shop in Madrid, with an associated website/blog.
To hint at the variety of games that would be available in the shop, the logo’s subject is a Chimera. Each animal head is meant to represent a different type of game. The lion for RPGs, the goat for trading card games and the snake for board games. Here is the finished design of the Chimera, shared with Sandra’s permission.

This was a fun commission in that it presented an interesting challenge. How to create a simple, readable and playful-looking mascot out of such a bizarre and complex and usually threatening-looking creature.
In the end, I’m quite proud of how it turned out. I hope Tesera Games does well!
Daily Hiking Resumes: The View from the Top of the Hill
Since getting over my cold, I’ve at last been able to resume my daily hikes up the nearby forested hill.
It has felt great to get back into the routine and I genuinely feel like my physical and mental health have improved. The foggy autumnal weather certainly helps make the view from the top all the more magical.

Media Showcase
- Cezar Capacle’s second video in his series: How I Make a Living as a Full-Time TTRPG Designer.
- Blerdy Disposition recommends a selection of Horror TTRPGs and discusses the genre’s appeal in table-top roleplaying.
- Cozy RPG Reviews’s latest video provides a useful guide on how to pick your first solo TTRPG.
- Louie Zong returns for his yearly Halloween tradition: another ghost duet!
- I was too late to join this, but RPG Trader has an excellent Halloween Bundle, containing 168 modules!
- And last but certainly not least: another music release from Psiren (a.k.a. Rob Chapman)! Black Box Sides A and B are two atmospheric and spine-chilling albums on Bandcamp. Here’s Rob’s own description:
“Black Box is a double album of original music, falling somewhere in between a concept album and a radio drama, or like an original score for a film that was never made. It follows two protagonists, Cillian and Nolan, on their way to meet at the- unbeknownst to them, doomed- Vayeate Station, after ten long months apart. Created for the “Locked In” mechjam over on Itch.io, hosted by the podcast On the Shoulders of Giants! You can check out them, and their coverage of the jam here: osgpod.com/posts/2026-09-01-0081-Locked-In“
That’s all for this issue!
As always, thank you so much for reading.
